ARBO Surfboards

Paul Reisberg from ARBO Surfboards has been working with us to develop some new products. Paul is originally from Germany & has surfed for many years in various countries around the world. He trained as a boat builder but in 2011 he started ARBO & now creates bespoke wooden surfboards in Cornwall. Paul has been working on recycling old bodyboards & by using other sustainable materials (including bamboo) to create new surf-craft for NOA.

By working with Arbo surfboards we were able to complete a fantastic, mini series of bespoke hand crafted hand planes. See some of his creations in our shop.

Ocean Recovery Project

#waveofwaste campaign

The Ocean Recovery Project, part of Keep Britain Tidy were the first to highlight the issue of cheap disposable bodyboards that blight our beaches, pollute our seas and create huge amounts of waste.

Disposable bodyboards are typically shipped across the globe for a few hours use before being dumped. Their #waveofwaste campaign received national media coverage and has led to huge awareness of the issue. Over the years they have recycled over 5000 broken boards into packaging, insulation, under-floor cushioning, dresses, cushions, bags and even bee hives.

How we aim to help

Through support by the Ocean Recovery Project, we have been able to recycle old bodyboard foam that would have gone to landfill, and turned them into new hand planes. The income generated from the sale of these recycled products, supports the fight against sex trafficking. See our shop to see what we’ve made.
